Managed Volunteer Program - M.V.P. is designed to bring together tech-savvy volunteers and engaged teachers, principals, and tech coordinators from K-12 schools to work together to complete specific technology-related projects.
City Student TECH CORPS 1.0 provides teenagers with 32 weeks of computer skills readiness and employment soft skills training. Tech-savvy instructors work in an informal education environment using this Student TECH CORPS® curriculum to prepare students for Level I Technical Support Certification and to build their knowledge of IT educational and career pathways. Students who successfully complete the program are assigned a 10-week paid summer job where they can apply the technology skills they have learned in a real-world setting. Co-developed with City of Columbus, Mayor’s Office of Education in 2005.
City Student TECH CORPS 2.0 is a new program for students who have successfully completed the City Student TECH CORPS Program. CSTC 2.0 gives students the opportunity to continue their exploration of educational and career opportunities in the field of technology. Students complete 32-weeks of technology training focused on A+ Essentials and a 10-week summer internship. The TCOH/NSBE Jr. Chapter is also a major component of this program. The Chapter introduces students to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics educational and career pathways. The overarching goal of the program is to support and encourage students to attend college and pursue technical degrees. CSTC 2.0 was created in response to 90+% of City Student TECH CORPS students and parents who have asked to continue their TECH CORPS experience.
Club TECH CORPS 1.0 is an exciting program developed by TECH CORPS Ohio and sponsored by the AEP Foundation. This program is designed to introduce elementary students to technology and all its possibilities. Club TECH CORPS includes hands-on, interactive activities tied directly to national technology standards for the 3rd-5th grades and focused on the fundamentals of Computer Programming, Robotics, Informatics and Digital Media. And like all TECH CORPS programs, is lead by a team of tech-savvy volunteers from the community.
Girl TECH CORPS is an exciting program developed by TECH CORPS Ohio and the Gidget Consortium. This program provides elementary and middle school girls with access to age-appropriate technology tools and applications as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with tech-savvy professional female volunteers from the community. This program is designed to encourage more girls to explore the educational and career opportunities in the field of technology.
Student TECH CORPS is a national TECH CORPS® program that delivers core technology training and certification to middle school and high school students, and then harnesses their knowledge to power a Student-Run Help Desk to provide valuable technical support in their school buildings.
Camp IT is a six week day camp for middle and high school students. Campers are introduced to a variety of occupations in the field of technology including computer programming, software engineering, informatics and digital media. The goal of the camp is to motivate students to explore their own interests and potential in the field of technology.
